A Great Heart

I once heard Dallas Willard ask the question, “What are you doing for the rest of your life?” I sat in my chair stunned. No one had ever asked me that before. Here was someone inviting me to apprentice myself to God’s Son, to enter the master class of life. In that moment I made a kind of living pledge, a sacred vow, to rearrange my life around Jesus. There were no fireworks, just a simple surrender. And since that moment an eternal kind of life has slowly opened up before me, giving my existence a meaning and richness that I didn’t think was possible. So now I ask you the same question, what are you doing for the rest of your life? Are you ready to make a pilgrimage into the heart of God? For we must never forget that at the center of the Universe is a great Heart. A Heart that’s working to draw all into transformation and healing. We stand on the margin of a life unknown, a life of incredible possibilities, a life of radiant beauty and power. It dances in the distance, on the horizon line of our existence, beckoning us to come, it’s a life as good and grand as the members of the Trinity share.
