Surrender

Surrender

Jesus' request split Simon and Andrew's life in two: “Follow Me and I will make you become fishers of men.” Here was an opportunity to break with their old life and pioneer a new kind of being. Their response is the purest form of surrender we have on record. Scripture says they immediately left their nets and followed Him. When they heard the call they relinquished their current life and embarked on one that orbited around Jesus. This is what giving our life to Christ is all about. It’s not just believing the right facts about Him, but it’s rearranging our entire life to be with Him. To let go of the life we’ve been working at, and lay hold of this new life that places Jesus Christ directly at the center of our existence. What followed for Simon and Andrew was an ever increasing awakening, the total transformation of their body and soul.
