An Everlasting Way

The invitation of Jesus is to give ourselves to Him in a way that allows our entire life to be taken over by Him, to commit ourselves to a lifelong apprenticeship. An everlasting way. A journey with no end, yet dotted with infinite destinations of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and temperance. Whosoever will may come is the invitation, anyone can walk in this way. In fact, that was the original name for the movement of Christ: the Way (Acts 19:23). And here, for me, is a profound truth: Christianity is not a set of teachings to agree with or revere, Christianity is a path we walk. In its deepest and most significant sense, it’s a journey in search.
