Right on Jonathan… such a clear and grace-filled reminder. As I yearn for humility it is so good to be reminded that this is a God activity. When I stumble and am so disappointed in myself yet again, it is so good to be reminded that this too is part of the process and that God actually isn’t disappointed! He is kinder with me than I am I think. And yet, still sets the bar higher than I do…. But then doesn’t ask me to go it alone. And friends like you are part of the “don’t go it alone” process! Thank you.
I love this. The past couple of days God has put 1 John 3:20 before me "for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and He knows everything." I also have come to believe that God is kinder with us than us than we are with ourselves. As Lynette said, He gently sets the bar higher, then helps us get there.
